Assam: Youth injured while resisting robbery attempt in Bajali’s Ketekibari

A robbery attempt in the Ketekibari area near Nityananda in Bajali district, Assam took a violent turn on Monday, May 12 night when a youth sustained serious injuries after trying to stop a group of armed robbers.

The injured has been identified as Jayanta Kalita, who was struck on the head with a sharp weapon by one of the miscreants when he attempted to intervene during the robbery. According to eyewitnesses, the incident occurred when three unidentified robbers targeted local businessman Achyut Kalita, intercepting him on the road.

Jayanta Kalita, who rushed to assist the businessman, was brutally attacked by the robbers. He was immediately rushed to Shaheed Madan-Rauta Civil Hospital in Pathsala, where he is currently undergoing treatment.

Police have launched a manhunt to trace and apprehend the culprits. Locals have expressed growing concern over rising criminal activities in the region and have demanded increased night patrolling and security measures.
