Assam: Youths attack couple with sticks and bamboo rods, FIR filed against four in Chirang

A shocking incident of violence has surfaced from Satipur in Kajalgaon, under Chirang district headquarters, where a group of youths allegedly launched a brutal assault on a woman and a man using sticks and bamboo rods.

The attack, led by a youth identified as Amir Ali, left both victims grievously injured. The entire episode was recorded on a mobile phone, and the disturbing visuals have since circulated locally, drawing widespread outrage.

Following the incident, the victims’ family filed an FIR at Kajalgaon Police Station, naming Amir Ali, Rezzak Ali, Bori, and Anowar Hussain as the attackers.

However, the family has accused the police of failing to take decisive action against the assailants despite the seriousness of the assault. “We have lodged a complaint, but no strong steps have been taken yet,” a family member alleged.

The victims remain under treatment, while the community has expressed deep concern over both the brutality of the attack and the alleged inaction of law enforcement.
