Jogighopa Police in Assam's Bongaigaon district have intensified their crackdown on reckless bikers and illegally modified motorcycles as part of efforts to improve road safety and prevent accidents.
In a recent operation at the FCI area in Jogighopa, police intercepted a youth who was allegedly riding a modified motorcycle and creating excessive noise on the road.
The rider was detained by police and directed to remove the unauthorized modifications from the motorcycle. The youth subsequently removed the modified accessories on the spot under police supervision.
Police officials said the action was taken against the rider for violating vehicle modification norms and causing public nuisance through the use of altered exhaust systems and other unauthorized fittings.
Jogighopa Police stated that strict measures are being taken against reckless riders and owners of illegally modified motorcycles to ensure safer roads and curb noise pollution in the area.
The drive against traffic violations and modified vehicles is expected to continue in the coming days as authorities seek to enforce road safety regulations more effectively.
