LPG consumers in Nagaon's Raidongia have alleged that money is being collected from customers in the name of e-KYC, with serious allegations levelled against the BINU'S INDANE agency.
Consumers alleged that they are being charged Rs 200 each for e-KYC, while some have also claimed that they are being pressured to purchase a gas pipe worth another Rs 200 while collecting their LPG cylinders.
According to the consumers, employees of the agency allegedly told them that the cylinder would not be provided unless they purchased the pipe.
The allegations have sparked concern among LPG consumers in the area, particularly those from rural communities. Consumers also alleged that similar practices involving middlemen are taking place at several gas agencies in the region.
The consumers have questioned the collection of money in the name of e-KYC and the alleged compulsion to purchase additional items while receiving subsidised LPG cylinders.
They have demanded a thorough investigation into the allegations against the agency and sought action against those found responsible.
