Bajali’s Baghmara upgraded to model village under Assam Adarsha Gaon Yojana

Baghmara Revenue Village in Bajali district has officially been declared a Model Village under the Assam Adarsha Gaon Yojana (A) — a flagship rural development initiative launched by the Government of Assam. The transformation has been met with widespread appreciation from the local residents, who now benefit from improved infrastructure and essential public services.

Situated in the northern part of Bajali, Baghmara enjoys strategic importance, with National Highway 127(A)—which connects Pathsala town to Nanglam in Bhutan—cutting directly through the village. The development efforts have elevated Baghmara's status significantly within the region.

As part of the scheme, the Government of Assam earmarked a grant of ₹5 crore for each model village. Baghmara has already received ₹50 lakh in the first installment and ₹49 lakh in the second, with developmental activities progressing under the supervision of State Cabinet Minister Ranjeet Kumar Dass.

The presence of these institutions, both governmental and private, has bolstered Baghmara’s growth trajectory. Residents have conveyed their satisfaction with the government’s initiative and voiced optimism that further infrastructure upgrades will follow with the disbursement of the remaining funds under the scheme.
