With the Assam Assembly elections just a few months away, political activity has intensified across the state as parties begin preparations for their campaigns, agendas and manifestos. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has stepped up its outreach efforts by launching a wall writing programme in several areas.
On January 5, members of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM), Margherita, carried out wall writing at around 20 busy locations across the Margherita co-district, marking the formal start of the BJP’s grassroots-level election campaign in the area.
Addressing party workers during the programme, Margherita MLA Bhaskar Sharma exuded confidence ahead of the 2026 Assam Assembly elections, stating that no political party has the “dare or courage” to defeat the BJP in the state. He said the party has begun full-scale preparations and is ready to go to the people with its agenda and achievements.
Leaders and workers from various BJP wings, including the Margherita BJP Sadar, Town Mandal, Mahila Morcha, and Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha, along with several senior party leaders, were present during the wall writing drive.
Party leaders said the wall writing campaign aims to strengthen the BJP’s connect with the public at the grassroots level and spread awareness about the party’s vision and developmental agenda ahead of the upcoming elections.
