BJP leaders offer prayers at Kamakhya Temple ahead of Assam swearing-in ceremony

Ahead of the swearing-in ceremony of the Himanta Biswa Sarma-led government in Assam, several senior leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party and the NDA visited the revered Kamakhya Temple on Tuesday, May 12, and offered prayers ahead of the high-profile political event.
Among those who visited the temple were BJP national president Nitin Nabin, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, and Speaker of the Assam Legislative Assembly Biswajit Daimary.
Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Sunetra Pawar and Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary also visited the shrine and offered prayers.
The temple witnessed heightened security and increased political activity as senior leaders from across the country arrived in Guwahati for the oath-taking ceremony.
Himanta Biswa Sarma is set to take oath as Assam Chief Minister for a second consecutive term at 11.40 a.m. at the Khanapara Veterinary College Field. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, along with over 40 chief ministers and deputy chief ministers from NDA-ruled States, are expected to attend the ceremony.
