BJP MLA Manab Deka has reiterated the demand for a discussion on the alleged Assam Public Service Commission (APSC) 'cash-for-jobs' scam, following the tabling of the Biplab Sharma Commission report in the Assam Assembly by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on February 17.
Speaking on the matter, Deka stated, "The Congress LoP and all the MLAs had demanded the Biplab Sharma Commission report to be tabled in the Assembly. On February 17, the Chief Minister tabled the report. Our demand is that this topic be discussed since it is an urgent matter, and the people of Assam should know who all were involved in this scam."
The controversy surrounding the APSC recruitment scandal has been a significant issue in Assam’s political landscape, with allegations of widespread corruption in government job selections.
The BJP has maintained that the previous Congress regime was complicit in the malpractice, while the opposition has accused the ruling party of selective action.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), on February 18, alleged that the enquiry committee's report on the 'cash-for-jobs' scam in the Assam Public Service Commission (APSC) revealed significant corruption during the tenure of the Congress government led by Tarun Gogoi.
The reports of the Justice (Retd) BK Sharma Commission which probed the anomalies in the conduct of APSC's Combined Competitive Examination (CCE) 2013 and 2014, were laid in the assembly on Monday.
The reports have named former APSC chairman Rakesh Paul as the 'mastermind', while also raising questions on the process of appointment of the tainted official during Gogoi's tenure. Over 70 people have so far been arrested in this connection.
State BJP president Dilip Saikia described the late Tarun Gogoi as the "kingpin of corruption", demanding stringent action against all accused mentioned in the report.
