In a high-energy workers’ meet held in his home turf of Deborgaon, Bodoland People's Front (BPF) supremo Hagrama Mohilary made a bold proclamation — the BPF will contest the upcoming Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) elections independently and form the next government on its own.
Addressing a massive crowd at Khengkhaibazar, Hultugaon, Mohilary asserted that the BPF has regained strong organisational strength across the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) and predicted a clear win with 25 to 26 seats in the council polls.
Rejecting speculation of any pre-poll tie-up, he said, “No alliance will be formed with any party. We will go solo and still form the government.”

He rated BJP as the second strongest contender in the region, while bluntly declaring that the ruling United People’s Party Liberal (UPPL) has weakened significantly and “won’t win even a single seat.”
Mohilary forecasted that the BPF and UPPL will face off in Kokrajhar and Chirang, while Baksa and Udalguri will witness contests between the BPF and BJP.
Taking a dig at former BTC Deputy Chief Khampa Borgoyary and ex-Assam minister Chandan Brahma, both of whom joined UPPL, Mohilary said they are now “politically irrelevant and sidelined.”
With elections approaching, the BPF appears to be gearing up for a fierce comeback — signaling a heated political showdown in the BTR.
