Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on March 25 launched a sharp attack on the Indian National Congress, claiming the party has “no agenda” left after decades of governance.
Sarma said that people have already seen what the Congress delivered during its 60 years in power and contrasted it with what he described as a “complete turnaround” in Assam under the Bharatiya Janata Party government. He asserted that the state is now witnessing a “new Assam” built on strong cultural and heritage foundations.
The Chief Minister further claimed that the majority of people in the state are firmly backing the BJP. He alleged that no indigenous Indian voter would support the Congress, adding that only “Bangladeshi infiltrators” remain aligned with the opposition party.
