Assam BJP MP Dilip Saikia has launched a sharp critique of the Congress-led INDIA alliance, accusing the party of consistently opposing the principles of Sanatan Dharma.
Speaking to the media, Saikia said, "Their behaviour, actions, words—they always stand against the thoughts of the Sanatanis. Appeasement politics is their only agenda."
Saikia further alleged that the Congress party has historically indulged in divisive policies. "In politics, we have seen that they made separate laws for Kashmir and spoke words like 'Sanatan Dharma is like cancer.' This clearly shows their disdain for the cultural and spiritual values held dear by millions of Indians," he stated.

The BJP MP’s comments come amidst an ongoing debate surrounding remarks made by members of the opposition alliance, which have drawn criticism from BJP leaders nationwide.
Sanatan Dharma, often translated as the "eternal duty" or "eternal law," is a term used to describe the essence of Hindu philosophy and culture. Its invocation in political debates has frequently stirred controversies, with both ruling and opposition parties accusing each other of using religion to polarize voters.
Saikia's remarks are part of a larger narrative within the BJP, which positions itself as a protector of India’s cultural heritage against what it describes as Congress’s appeasement politics.
