Cow head incident: Assam IGP leads night patrols, 38 arrested

Assam's Dhubri experienced heightened security on June 13 night as the Inspector General of Police (IGP), law and order, Akhilesh Kumar Singh, personally led extensive patrol operations. Meanwhile, 38 criminals were arrested from eight police station areas within the district for non-bailable offenses, according to Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.

 
The move comes amidst a significant deployment of the Rapid Action Force (RAF) across the town, acting on direct instructions from CM Sarma.

The streets and alleys of Dhubri witnessed a visible and coordinated effort by police personnel and a large contingent of RAF jawans, meticulously patrolling and guarding the city to ensure the safety and security of its residents.

The increased vigilance has already yielded significant results. Following explicit orders from the Chief Minister, police stations across the district have been actively working to apprehend individuals involved in criminal activities. 

In a major breakthrough, a total of 38 criminals have been arrested from various police station areas within the district, a tweet by CM Sarma informed. These arrests are for non-bailable offenses, underscoring the seriousness of the charges.
 

Meanwhile, the latest breakdown of arrests by police stations (for 30 criminals) is as follows:

• Dhubri Sadar Police Station: 04 arrests
• Tamarhat Police Station: 05 arrests
• Agomani Police Station: 01 arrest
• Gauripur Police Station: 07 arrests
• Golakganj Police Station: 04 arrests
• Bilasipara Police Station: 01 arrest
• Chapar Police Station: 03 arrests
• Sapotgram Police Station: 05 arrests 

The swift action taken by the police, coupled with the strategic deployment of the RAF, signals a robust response to crime in the district. Authorities have stated that these operations will continue as part of ongoing efforts to ensure peace and security for all citizens of Dhubri.
