Cybercrime or terror-links: Assam police detain over dozen in covert night operation in Bilasipara

In a major late-night crackdown, Assam Police launched a large-scale covert operation across several localities in Bilasipara under Dhubri district, detaining more than a dozen individuals, including three women. 

According to sources, the unexpected police activity triggered tension and confusion among residents, with raids continuing into the early hours of the morning. 

While the police have yet to issue an official statement detailing the purpose of the operation, preliminary speculations point towards links with ongoing cybercrime probes or anti-terror investigations.

The identities of the detained individuals have not yet been released. All are currently being interrogated as part of the ongoing inquiry.

Police officials have refrained from commenting on the specifics of the case, stating that further information will be made available once preliminary investigations conclude.
