The final electoral roll for Dhubri district was officially released on February 10, marking a crucial milestone in preparations for the 2026 Assam Legislative Assembly elections.
The publication followed the completion of the Special Amendment process and was unveiled at a high-level meeting held at the office of the Dhubri District Commissioner.
The meeting was presided over by District Commissioner Nabadeep Pathak and attended by Additional Commissioner Debajyoti Gogoi, Additional Superintendent of Police Deepjyoti Talukdar, representatives of recognised political parties, and members of the media. The presence of multiple stakeholders underscored the administration’s emphasis on transparency and inclusivity in the revision process.
As per the final electoral roll, the total number of registered voters in Dhubri district now stands at 12,17,797. Officials said the figures reflect an intensive Special Revision exercise that involved door-to-door verification by Booth Level Officers. The exercise aimed to eliminate duplicate and ineligible entries while ensuring the inclusion of all eligible citizens who attained voting age on or before January 1, 2026.
The district administration also released constituency-wise voter data, offering a clearer picture of the electorate across Dhubri’s five Assembly segments. Golakganj (No. 6) has a total of 2,03,876 voters, while Gauripur (No. 7) accounts for 3,10,594 electors. Dhubri constituency (No. 8) has 2,31,136 registered voters, Birsingh Jarua (No. 9) stands at 2,80,461, and Bilasipara (No. 10) has 1,91,730 voters.
Addressing the meeting, District Commissioner Pathak said the Special Amendment was carried out with the highest standards of accuracy and openness. He noted that the administration worked in close coordination with political parties at every stage to ensure that no eligible voter was excluded, while simultaneously safeguarding the integrity of the electoral roll. According to him, the process reflects the Election Commission’s commitment to a free, fair, and credible electoral system.
With the final roll now published, Dhubri district formally moves into the next phase of election preparedness. Copies of the electoral roll have been provided to all political parties, enabling them to scrutinise the data ahead of the polls. Voters have also been encouraged to verify their details at their respective polling stations or through the official Election Commission portal.
Officials said the completion of the Special Revision strengthens the foundation for the upcoming elections and reinforces public confidence in the electoral process. As political activity gradually begins to pick up across the district, the finalisation of the voter list is expected to play a key role in shaping campaign strategies in one of Assam’s politically significant districts.
