Domestic violence in Selenghat, located in Assam’s Mariani area, took a tragic turn when a man allegedly threw his three-month-old daughter into a well following a quarrel with his wife. The horrifying incident shocked residents.
The accused, Amar Boraik, was reportedly under the influence of alcohol when he snatched the infant from her grandmother’s lap during an argument with his wife. The incident occurred at the Tekla Line of Dalim Tea Estate.
Local villagers alerted the police, who quickly reached the spot and arrested the accused. The body of the infant was recovered from the well.
Police have registered a case of murder and further investigation is underway. The incident has sparked widespread outrage, with calls for strict action against the accused.
