Following the issuance of the election notification, officials of the Boko Revenue Circle on March 15, removed political banners and posters from several locations under its jurisdiction to ensure adherence to election guidelines.
The drive was conducted shortly after the notification was issued as part of the enforcement of the Model Code of Conduct ahead of the upcoming Assembly elections in Assam.
It may be mentioned that elections to all 126 Assembly constituencies in Assam are scheduled to be held on April 9. In view of the polls, election officials and staff have already begun necessary preparations related to the conduct of the elections.
Meanwhile, to prevent any untoward incidents and maintain a peaceful environment during the election period, adequate paramilitary forces have been deployed across the Boko region.
