Fake doctor arrested in Assam's Nagaon during police crackdown

A man posing as a doctor was arrested by Khatowal Police during a crackdown on unqualified medical practitioners in Nagaon district, following the Assam Chief Minister's directive to take strict action against fake doctors.
The accused, identified as Nazrul Islam, was apprehended from Penai Bazar in the Samaguri area, where he had allegedly been operating a clinic under the name M/S Primary Health Care.
According to police, Nazrul Islam had been providing medical treatment to patients for a long period despite allegedly lacking the required qualifications to practise medicine.
During the operation, police seized several medical instruments, medicines and other items related to the clinic.
The accused has been taken into custody, and Khatowal Police are continuing their investigation to ascertain the extent of the alleged illegal medical practice and whether more people were involved.
