In a remarkable journey spanning over two years, Anil Chauhan, a resident of Daman and Diu has been travelling across the country on foot, accompanied by his two young daughters, to raise awareness about the urgent need to end rape and promote gender safety.
The 2-year-4-month-long journey, which began from Kanyakumari, reached a new milestone on Monday evening as Chauhan arrived in Boitamari in Assam’s Bongaigaon district. His campaign, marked by endurance and resolve, continues to draw attention across states.
On his arrival in Boitamari, the Shanti Ashram extended hospitality, ensuring food and shelter for Chauhan and his daughters. The Ashram authorities lauded his commitment and message of social awareness.
Speaking to local media, Chauhan reiterated that his mission is to awaken collective consciousness around sexual violence and make India a safer place for women and girls. His grassroots-level campaign has seen support from various local communities during his cross-country trek.
