The Gauhati High Court has rejected the bail plea of Shyamkanu Mahanta in connection with the death case of renowned Assamese singer Zubeen Garg, whose death took place on September 19, 2025, in Singapore.
Meanwhile, the hearing on the bail applications of four other accused was completed in the Fast Track Court. After hearing arguments from both the prosecution and defence, the court reserved its order on their bail pleas.
The accused who moved the bail applications are Amritaprabha Mahanta, Sandipan Garg, Paresh Baishya and Nandeshwar Bora.
The court has reserved its verdict on the four bail pleas and is scheduled to pronounce the order on June 8.
Earlier, the Fast Track Court framed charges against all seven accused in the case, including murder charges against four individuals. The trial in the sensational case is also set to begin on June 8.
