Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi on November 1 described the INDIA bloc’s mega rally in Delhi as “historic”, saying that students, farmers and people from different sections of society had come together to safeguard the country’s democracy.
Speaking at the rally, Gogoi said the opposition alliance represented a broader movement of national unity and alleged that the BJP was apprehensive about the growing public mobilisation.
“This is historic. The entire nation is now united under the INDIA bloc—students, farmers, all of us stand together—and we will safeguard the country's democracy,” Gogoi said.
He further alleged that the BJP was fearful of the unity being demonstrated by the people through the movement.
Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury also addressed the gathering, describing the turnout as unprecedented in his experience of political rallies in Delhi. He claimed that the scale of public participation reflected growing opposition to the BJP-led government and asserted that the ruling party’s departure from power was becoming certain.
