GST department conducts raid at contractor’s residence in Kokrajhar over alleged tax irregularities

The Assam government’s Goods and Services Tax (GST) Department on Thursday, January 8 conducted a raid at the residence of a prominent contractor in Kokrajhar in connection with alleged tax irregularities.

A team of GST officials from Guwahati carried out the operation at the residence of contractor Dilni Basumatary, located at Sub-Path No. 5 in the Sudempuri area of Kokrajhar town.

The raid was launched following specific inputs and allegations related to discrepancies in tax compliance.

According to official sources, the operation is being led by State Tax Superintendent Manoj Kumar Deuri, who is heading a 12-member enforcement team from Guwahati. The team is examining documents and financial records as part of the ongoing investigation.
