Guwahati's Garchuk Police Station successfully solved a murder case within three hours of the crime being reported.
The case, which unfolded in the basement of Silver Arcade Marketing Complex in Garchuk, has exposed a suspected love triangle that led to the brutal killing of a 26-year-old man.
At around 4:00 PM, police received information regarding a serious assault at the complex. A team led by the Officer-in-Charge of Garchuk PS immediately rushed to the scene.
The victim, identified as Mriganka Barman, a 26-year-old resident of Japarkuchi, Ward No. 06, under Nalbari Police Station, was rushed to Excel Care Hospital but tragically succumbed to his injuries.

Initial investigation revealed that Barman had been staying at Hotel High City Inn with a woman. Using CCTV footage and technical surveillance, police quickly identified the accused as Jan Mohammad Ali, also known as Raju Ali, aged 31, from Dampur under Hajo Police Station. He was arrested within hours.
Police suspect a love triangle involving the victim, the accused, and the woman as the motive for the murder. The accused allegedly stabbed Barman with a knife and assaulted him with a lathi. Both weapons have been recovered and seized. The fingerprint experts and forensic science team examined the crime scene, and all legal procedures are being followed.
This case, cracked within just three hours, highlights the efficiency and rapid response of the Garchuk Police. Their timely action prevented the accused from escaping and ensured justice was quickly set in motion.
