Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma responded sharply to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's planned visit to Batadrava Than, the birthplace of the revered Vaishnavite saint Srimanta Sankardeva.
When questioned about Rahul Gandhi's visit, Sarma redirected the conversation, stating, "Why are we talking about Ravan on this auspicious day when Pran Pratishtha of Ram Lalla happened? Today, at least talk about Lord Ram. After 500 years, we should focus on Lord Ram and not Ravan."
Sarma stated the end of a 500-year period, asserting that "In India, 500 years of slavery is finished." He credited India's achievements to the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, proclaiming, "India has shown today that everything is possible under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. We had the opportunity to witness a new era after five centuries."
Expressing his belief in the establishment of "Ram Rajya" in India, Sarma stated, "I am sure and I believe that from today onwards in India, Ram Rajya will be established and India will soon become a Vishwa Guru." He went on to declare that the prevailing atmosphere in India is that of Lord Ram and it will continue to be so.
