Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma joined hundreds at Salbari in Baksa district, Assam on June 21 to mark the 11th International Yoga Day.
The large-scale celebration witnessed enthusiastic participation from over 2,000 people representing diverse walks of life.
Accompanying the Chief Minister at the event were Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) Chief Executive Member Pramod Boro, Ministers Jayanta Malla Baruah and Urkhao Gwra Brahma, and local MLA Phanidhar Talukdar. Several executive members and councilors of the BTR were also present, underscoring the region’s unified commitment to promoting health and mindfulness.
The program featured collective yoga sessions aimed at encouraging holistic well-being and spreading awareness of yoga’s benefits in daily life.
Following the session, Chief Minister Sarma addressed the media, highlighting the growing importance of yoga in fostering physical and mental health, particularly among the youth. He also made several key observations on regional development and the state’s governance priorities.
