Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on May 20 visited Jagiroad in Morigaon district as part of multiple official engagements and inspected government land earmarked for future development projects.
The Chief Minister visited 331 bighas of government land at Borbori Kacham under Uttar Khola Mouza in the Morigaon Revenue Circle to assess plans for land acquisition and preservation.
Officials said that while there is currently no specific government project planned for the site, the land is being preserved for future developmental activities. The state government is considering the possibility of establishing government institutions, educational facilities and other public infrastructure on the land in the coming years.
After inspecting the 331-bigha plot at Borbori, Sarma also reviewed ongoing earth-filling work at an adjoining 1,000-bigha area that had been acquired earlier.
The visit highlights the state government’s focus on land planning and infrastructure development aimed at supporting future public projects in the region.
