Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D. K. Shivakumar on Thursday, February 19, claimed that Congress leaders and office bearers are confident of a strong anti-incumbency wave in Assam, asserting that people in the state are seeking change ahead of the upcoming Assembly elections.
Taking a swipe at the BJP over the reported induction of former Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president Bhupen Borah, Shivakumar questioned the ruling party’s strength, stating that if the BJP were truly strong, it would not have sought leaders from the Congress.
He further claimed that not a single party worker followed Borah after his exit, arguing that it reflects the BJP’s organisational weakness and signals that the party is losing ground ahead of the polls.
