The second edition of Khel Maharan commenced on Wednesday at the Kokrajhar District Sports Association’s playground, marking the beginning of a two-day district-level sporting extravaganza aimed at fostering youth engagement and athletic excellence.
The event was inaugurated by Daobaisa Boro, Executive Member of the BTC Sports and Youth Welfare Department, in the presence of Kokrajhar District Commissioner Masanda M Pertin and other dignitaries.
With over 400 enthusiastic participants from five assembly constituencies—Kokrajhar, Dotma, Gossaigaon, Parbatjhora, and Baokhungri—the tournament promises a dynamic showcase of emerging talent.
An initiative of the Assam Government, Khel Maharan serves as a grassroots platform to identify and nurture young athletes while instilling a spirit of sportsmanship. The event features a diverse range of individual and team-based competitions, generating excitement and engagement among the youth.
The two-day sporting event is set to witness intense competition, camaraderie, and an opportunity for young athletes to make their mark in the field of sports.
