Veteran singer Lucky Ali visited Zubeen Khetra in Sonapur, near Guwahati, on October 11, ahead of his performance at a music festival being held in the city.
The singer visited the memorial dedicated to late Assam music icon Zubeen Garg, whose death in September 2025 prompted an outpouring of grief across Assam and beyond.
Ali, one of India's most recognisable singer-songwriters, is headlining the second day of the fest at Helipad Ground, Sarusajai Stadium. The festival, held on October 10 and 11, features performances by several artistes, with rapper DIVINE headlining the opening day and Ali leading the October 11 line-up.
Known for his distinctive voice and mellow musical style, Lucky Ali rose to prominence with songs such as O Sanam, Dooba Dooba and Na Tum Jaano Na Hum. His music, which blends pop, folk and acoustic influences, has earned him a loyal following across generations.
Zubeen Khetra, located at Hatimura in Sonapur, is the final resting place of Zubeen Garg, whose contribution to music and cinema made him one of the country's most influential cultural figures. Development work at the site began in March 2026, with the Assam government allocating land for its development.
Ali's visit comes as music fans gather in Guwahati for the festival, bringing together artistes from different musical backgrounds for the two-day event.
