In an alarming incident, a group of miscreants in Tura, Meghalaya allegedly attacked a vehicle registered in Assam. The attack took place early this morning, July 29 when the vehicle, belonging to a young contractor from Goalpara, Assam, was parked overnight by the roadside in Tura.
The miscreants shattered the vehicle's windows and locks by pelting stones. The young contractor, who was visiting Tura in the Garo Hills for business purpose, reported that he was also physically assaulted without any provocation.
Following the incident, the victim approached the Tura police station to file a complaint. However, he alleged that the Meghalaya Police refused to register the case, citing various reasons and instead instructed him to leave.

The situation further escalated when the same group of miscreants attempted to attack another Assam-registered vehicle in front of the Tura police station shortly after the initial assault.
Both victims have appealed to the Chief Minister and the Director General of Police of Meghalaya to address the issue and ensure the safety of Assam residents visiting Meghalaya.
The young contractor, who frequents Tura for his work, expressed his shock at the unprovoked violence, noting that he had never encountered such hostility on his previous visits.
