Marking 11 years of the Narendra Modi-led BJP government at the Centre, Assam BJP spokesperson and Assam Chamber of Commerce Chairman Rupam Goswami addressed the media on Friday at the BJP office in Kokrajhar, highlighting the government’s key achievements and contributions to national and regional progress.
Goswami praised the decade-long tenure of Prime Minister Modi as a period of “unprecedented development, decisive leadership, and transformative governance.” He said the Centre had prioritized economic reforms, robust infrastructure development, and enhanced national security.
Citing flagship schemes such as Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Ujjwala Yojana, Jan Dhan Yojana, and the Make in India initiative, Goswami noted that the government had empowered the poor and strengthened India's position globally.
Highlighting the northeastern context, he pointed to Assam’s significant strides in infrastructure, better connectivity, peace initiatives, and rising investment opportunities, especially in regions like the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR). Goswami said these developments had not only improved the quality of life but also restored peace and harmony in once-troubled areas.
He further emphasized the Modi government’s commitment to inclusive growth, transparency, and support for small businesses and the common people. He said the BJP-led administration had consistently worked towards building a stronger, self-reliant India with a people-centric approach.
