Reacting to recent remarks made by Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi against Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and Bihpuria MLA Bhupen Kumar Borah said the Congress leader has failed to gain the trust of the people of the country.
Speaking to the media in Guwahati on May 22, Borah said Rahul Gandhi had aspired to become the Prime Minister but was not accepted by the people.
“Rahul Gandhi wanted to become the Prime Minister of the country. He is not the Prime Minister because the people of the country do not want him to be,” Borah said.
The BJP MLA further stated that Narendra Modi has been elected Prime Minister three consecutive times because of the people’s support and confidence in his leadership.
“Prime Minister Modi became the Prime Minister three times because the people wanted him to lead the country,” he added.
Criticising the language allegedly used by Rahul Gandhi while targeting the Prime Minister, Borah said such remarks are reducing the Congress leader’s public acceptance further.
“He is becoming even less liked because of the kind of words he uses for our Prime Minister,” the BJP leader remarked.
