A senior student allegedly assaulted a junior at Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya in Morigaon, leaving the latter injured. The incident has sparked outrage among students and their families, with accusations that the school authorities failed to take appropriate action against the senior student.
The injured student is said to be recovering, but the lack of immediate response from the school administration has fueled discontent.
Following the incident, Morigaon Commissioner Devashish Sharma visited the school to assess the situation and the poor condition of the school.
During his visit, Sharma addressed the students, emphasising the importance of discipline and moral values among them. He urged the students to resolve conflicts peacefully and to uphold the school's code of conduct.
Sharma also hauled up the school authorities for not adequately maintaining the school premises, specially the bathing area and the dormitory areas.
