Morigaon-based voluntary organisation ‘Sahay Assam’ has received an ambulance from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund to strengthen its humanitarian and public welfare activities.
The ambulance was formally inaugurated by Morigaon District Commissioner Srishti Singh at a programme held on the premises of the District Commissioner’s office on November 7.
The inauguration ceremony was conducted with traditional religious rituals in the presence of senior journalists Dalim Phukan and Pranab Bhattacharya, Sahay Assam president Raju Mahanta, secretary Pradip Hazarika, and other office-bearers and members of the organisation.
Sahay Assam has been engaged in various social welfare and humanitarian activities in the district for several years.
The ambulance is expected to strengthen the organisation’s service initiatives and provide assistance in transporting patients to hospitals during medical emergencies.
