Assam Pradesh Congress Committee President Gaurav Gogoi on April 4, launched a sharp attack on the ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA), alleging that the government has failed to address key public concerns, while campaigning in Kokrajhar district ahead of the Assembly elections.
Addressing a large election rally at Shilbari under the 5 No. Parbatjhora constituency, Gogoi campaigned in support of Congress candidate Ashraful Islam Sheikh.
The APCC chief accused the NDA government of neglecting pressing issues affecting the public and urged voters to bring about political change in the state.
He said the Congress is committed to ensuring development, peace and inclusive governance, promising that a Congress-led government would focus on employment generation, price control and welfare measures for the common people.
Gogoi also emphasised that the party aims to protect the interests of all communities and called on voters to support the Congress in the upcoming elections.
Assam will go to polls in a single phase on April 9 for all 126 Assembly constituencies, with counting scheduled for May 4.
