Pandal collapses in Moran ahead of Assam CM’s visit; two workers from Dhubri injured

A pandal under construction for a proposed programme of the Chief Minister collapsed late Thursday night in Abhaypur under Moran in Dibrugarh district, leaving five workers injured. 

Two labourers, identified as Arshad Ali and Nur Saiyad Ali from Dhubri district, sustained serious injuries and were immediately shifted to the Moran–Tiloi Community Health Centre. 

Three others suffered minor injuries.

The incident occurred around 1 am when nearly 20 workers hired by Tinsukia-based contractor firm Grassroot were preparing the venue for the Chief Minister’s Women Entrepreneurship Scheme approval letter distribution event. The structure suddenly gave way, triggering chaos at the site.

Meanwhile, the Chief Minister’s programme, originally scheduled for Friday, has been postponed due to other official commitments.
