PM Modi to visit Silchar on March 14; high-level preparations underway

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Silchar on March 14, prompting the Cachar district administration to intensify preparations for the high-profile tour.
On Tuesday, Assam Chief Secretary Dr. Ravi Kota, Director General of Police Harmeet Singh, Minister Kaushik Rai and Minister Krishnendu Paul inspected the proposed venue of the Prime Minister’s public meeting. The team reviewed arrangements related to security deployment, traffic regulation and infrastructure readiness in and around the Ramnagar Bypass area.
Later, a high-level meeting was held at the office of the Cachar District Commissioner in the presence of the Chief Secretary, the DGP and the two ministers. The meeting was attended by the District Commissioner, Superintendent of Police and senior officials from various departments. Detailed discussions were held on security planning, crowd management, traffic control and overall administrative coordination for the Prime Minister’s visit.
Officials stated that the Prime Minister will address a major public gathering at Ramnagar Bypass. During his visit, he is also slated to lay the foundation stone for the Guwahati-Barapani-Panchgram National Highway expressway project and the Silchar flyover.
The announcement of the visit has generated considerable enthusiasm across the district, with the administration asserting that comprehensive arrangements are being put in place to ensure the smooth conduct of the programme.
