The district administration in Dhubri has made extensive preparations for the upcoming Assam Assembly elections scheduled for April 9, with polling teams and election materials dispatched on April 8.
Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) and other polling materials were distributed from P.C. Institution Higher Secondary School and Pramathesh Barua College to various polling stations across the district.
Officials and polling personnel began their journey early in the morning to reach 1,548 polling stations spread across five Assembly constituencies in the district.
A total of 33 candidates are contesting from these five constituencies, with around 12,20,384 voters set to decide their fate. Polling will begin at 7 AM and continue till 5 PM.
The administration has ensured all logistical arrangements and security measures are in place to facilitate smooth and peaceful voting in the district.
