On his two-day tour of the Northeast, Union Minister of Panchayati Raj and Agriculture, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, made a significant stop in Samaguri, Nagaon, where he interacted with around 50 accomplished women entrepreneurs under the National Rural Livelihoods Mission (NRLM).
The women, proudly recognised as ‘Lakhpati Didis’ and ‘Maha-Lakhpati Didis’, are part of self-help groups that have achieved notable financial independence, earning in lakhs annually. The minister held an interactive session with the achievers to understand their journeys toward self-reliance, including the impact of government-led livelihood initiatives on their success.
Shivraj Singh Chouhan visited several stalls showcasing products made by the women under NRLM. He praised their dedication, innovation, and the transformative role of rural entrepreneurship in boosting local economies.
