In a recent incident, a 34-year-old youth from Assam’s Tinsukia district was found dead under mysterious circumstances while working in another state on February 1. The deceased has been identified as Bubul Barua, son of Dandeshwar Barua, a resident of Doomdooma Na-Gaon under Bordumsa Police Station in Tinsukia district.
According to sources, Bubul Barua was employed with Toms Pipes Pvt. Ltd., a private company based in Kottayam, Kerala. His body was recovered from behind the company’s quarters, triggering shock and concern among family members and locals back home.
Local police in Kerala have recovered the body and arranged for a post-mortem examination to ascertain the cause of death. However, the exact circumstances leading to his death remain unclear and are currently under investigation.
Family members of the deceased have demanded a thorough probe into the incident and have also urged the authorities to ensure that the body is brought back to his native village at the earliest.
The incident has once again raised serious concerns over the safety and well-being of youths working outside Assam. It comes close on the heels of another recent tragedy in Bengaluru, where four youths from Assam were found dead inside a rented room, reportedly under suspicious circumstances. These back-to-back incidents have intensified worries among families and communities, prompting renewed calls for stronger safety measures and proper monitoring of migrant workers employed outside the state.
