Two youths held with pistol, live ammunition in Kokrajhar’s Gossaigaon

In a major breakthrough, police arrested two youths and recovered a firearm, live ammunition and other items during a late-night operation in Assam’s Gossaigaon area of Kokrajhar district.

The operation was conducted under the leadership of the Additional Superintendent of Police of Kokrajhar district based on specific intelligence inputs.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Jiten Hasda and Martin Hembrom.

Police recovered one pistol with magazine, three rounds of 7.65 mm live ammunition, two mobile phones and a motorcycle from their possession.

According to sources, a police team carried out the operation on the nights of April 26 and 27 and apprehended the duo from the Gossaigaon police station area.

Further investigation is underway to determine the source of the weapon and any possible criminal links.
