‘Will gouge out Himanta’s eyes’: AIUDF leader Badruddin Ajmal hits out at Assam CM during poll rally in Nagaon

All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) leader Badruddin Ajmal made a series of controversial remarks targeting Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, minister Piyush Hazarika and BJP candidate Debashish Sharma during an election campaign meeting at Borbori in Lahorighat.
In one of the meetings held in Lahorighat, Ajmal said, “Will gouge out Himanta’s eyes so that he cannot see Miya people.” He also claimed that Sarma and Hazarika “will have to go to Bangladesh”.
Targeting BJP candidate Debashish Sharma for Nagaon bypoll, Ajmal said he would “put Debashish Sharma in jail within four months” and added that Sharma would be forgiven if he “recites the Kalima”.
Ajmal also said, “This doctor, that doctor — Ajmal is the factor,” while addressing the gathering.
Speaking about Iliyas Ansari, Ajmal claimed that he had spent Rs 50 lakh to educate and bring him into politics. He further said that Iliyas Ansari would be given an AIUDF ticket in the upcoming election.
The remarks were made during Ajmal's campaign in Borbori, Lahorighat, as political activity intensifies ahead of the election.
The election campaign for the Nagaon Lok Sabha constituency bypoll has intensified.
Tension prevailed in Rupahihat in Nagaon during a Congress election campaign. The situation turned heated after a group of people staged a protest when the Congress election rally reached Hatipara in Rupahihat.
The protesters raised slogans including “Congress Go Back”, “Gaurav Gogoi Go Back”, “Rakibul Hussain Go Back”, “Wajed Ali Choudhury Go Back”, “Ripun Bora Go Back”, “Nurul Huda Go Back” and “Shivamoni Bora Go Back.”
The protesters also displayed black flags in front of Congress leaders during the campaign
