A chilling stabbing incident early Saturday, June 28 morning has left residents of Ganeshguri’s Punjabi Gali in shock. A young woman was found severely injured, prompting immediate police and medical intervention.
According to eyewitnesses, locals on their morning walk discovered the woman, lying in a pool of blood on the roadside. The Dispur Police were immediately alerted, and the victim was rushed to Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) with serious head and leg injuries. Doctors have confirmed that she is now out of danger.
Preliminary police reports suggest the stabbing occurred late Friday night. In connection with the incident, police have arrested Raju Barman, a Rapido driver, while an investigation into the exact sequence of events and motive is ongoing.
In a dramatic twist, the victim has made a statement to the police alleging that the actual attacker was Nikki Boro, who she claims is the girlfriend of the arrested accused. The police have not yet confirmed Nikki’s role but are examining the possibility of a personal dispute or love triangle as a potential motive.
“We are examining all angles, including the involvement of other individuals,” a senior police officer from Dispur PS said. “Statements are being recorded, and forensic evidence is being collected.”
Authorities have intensified their investigation to uncover the exact circumstances surrounding the assault.
