‘Worse than animals’: Badruddin Ajmal launches scathing attack on Assam government

AIUDF chief Badruddin Ajmal launched a sharp attack on the BJP-led Assam government, urging political leaders to rise above Hindu-Muslim divisions and prioritise humanity.

Speaking during a visit to Barpeta district, Ajmal criticised those who, he alleged, continue to divide people along religious lines.

“You will neither become Hindu nor Muslim; you are the children of human beings. I do not know when they will become human,” Ajmal said.

Taking a swipe at the government and its leaders, the AIUDF president said those promoting divisive politics should first learn to behave like human beings.

“The people making such statements are not human; they are worse than animals. Tell them to become human first. At least stop talking about Hindu and Muslim for once,” he said.

Ajmal’s remarks come amid continuing political sparring in Assam over issues related to religion, identity and community-based politics.
