Boosting the spirits of the district, a new Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) centre will be inaugurated in Majuli soon. The Information Technology and Communication department will soon start a new BPO. The following was confirmed by the central IT minister Ravi Shankar Prasad on 2nd February. While Software Technology Parks of India took the project after the orders passed in the Central Ministry. Dr Omkar Rai, Director General of STPI and senior director Devesh Tyagi visited Majuli in context to this.
