COVID-19 continues to take its toll on Mizoram; 32 new cases detected

AIZAWL: Mizoram recorded 36 fresh COVID-19 positive cases over the past 24 hours taking the total affected tally to 4,655.

Altogether 32 new cases were recorded in state capital Aizawl, three in Lawngtlai and one in Champhai district.

Of the new infected people, 16 had returned from other states while two had migrated from neighbouring Myanmar.

The state now has an active caseload of 175 while 4,468 persons have recovered from the disease.

On the other hand, the dreaded virus has also claimed 12 lives in the state so far.

A total of 1,660 samples for COVID-19 were tested over the past 24 hours.

On the other hand, 78,047 people, including 22,531 senior citizens, have been vaccinated in the hill state so far.
