India reports 2.94 lakh fresh COVID-19 cases, 2023 deaths over 24 hours

Dimapur remains on top with 154 fresh COVID cases, 180 in Nagalnd in 24 hours

NEW DELHI: Even as the day's death toll surpassed 2,000 for the first time since the pandemic's outbreak, India has reported over 2.94 lakh fresh COVID-19 cases over the past 24 hours.

It is the second highest daily case count ever recorded by any country.

The death toll has reached 1,82,553.

The total number of COVID cases in India stands at 1,56,16,130, while 1,67,457 people have been discharged, and 1,32,76,039 patients have been recovered from the infection.

India currently has 21,57,538 active cases of Coronavirus.

Total 13,01,19,310 people have been administered vaccine in the country.
