GANGTOK: In a shocking development, a loan defaulter in the Sardong area of Gyalshing, the capital state of West Sikkim has assaulted a bank employee on July 21.

According to police report, the bank employee identified as Lakpa Tenzing Bhutia and Manoj Kumar Borah of Union Bank of India had gone to Sardong to meet the loan defaulter Aita Dhoj Limboo to recover a loan amount.

On reaching the shop of Aita Dhoj Limboo, he assaulted the bank employees with bamboo stick after a heated conversation.

Limboo was arrested and booked under sections 324 and 186 of IPC but later released on bail.
