Lok Sabha election | Manipur to set up nearly 300 all-women polling stations

Imphal, March 30, 2019:

Manipur is all set to make a historic move by setting up nearly 300 all-women polling stations for the ensuing Lok Sabha elections.

State Chief Electoral Officer PK Singh has informed that a total of 2,862 number of polling stations have been set up. Among these stations, 225 vulnerable and 282 are critical. He also mentioned that there will be a model polling station in each Assembly constituency.

The state will head to the polls on April 11 and 18. The state will also undergo Assembly polls for two constituencies: Imphal East and Churachandpur. The polling stations for both the polls will be run by women personnel.
