Manipur minister says state government committed to welfare of hill districts

UKHRUL (Manipur), AUG 30, 2018:

Manipur’s Horticulture and Soil Conservation Minister Thounaojam Shyamkumar said the state government, led by Chief Minister N Biren Singh, is committed to the welfare of people, especially those who are settled in the hill districts.

Inaugurating the three-day long 9th Hathei Phanit (Chilli Festival) at Sirarakhong village in Ukhrul district on Wednesday, he sought the cooperation of people saying villagers and officials should come forward and extend their help to the departmental officials.

The officers concerned must visit places and give an extensive report on the possible steps and programmes which can be taken up in the areas, he said.

The minister announced Rs.13.5 lakh for the construction of a rural market shed and allocation of a 4x4 vehicle for the transportation of local produces till Imphal after September this year.
