Meghalaya CM condemns IED Blast in Shillong market
Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma has strongly condemned the IED blast in Shillong’s Laitumkhrah market at about 1:30 pm on Tuesday. Sangma has said investigation into blast is being carried on.

SHILLONG: Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma has strongly condemned the IED blast in Shillong’s Laitumkhrah market at about 1:30 pm on Tuesday. Sangma has said investigation into blast is being carried on.
Reportedly, the Hynniewtrep National Liberation Council (HNLC), a proscribed rebel outfit in Meghalaya, has claimed responsibility for the IED that left two persons injured.
“Strongly condemn the IED blast reported in Laitumkhrah earlier this afternoon that has injured two citizens. Home Minister, Lahkmen Rymbui and officials of Meghalaya Police have apprised me on the matter and further investigation is being carried out.”
He said in a Facebook post.
The injured have been admitted at Nazareth Hospital for treatment.
